Check Out Our Spring Share Your Shutters Winner

Holly Perron

Spring is blowing by here in Philadelphia, but we haven’t forgotten about our regularly scheduled Share Your Shutters contest. Our latest winner is Tonya S., who shared some photos of her new shutters that feature a lot of great design choices.

closed shutters in dining room

Tonya’s house features some stunning new Polywood® plantation shutters in her dining room. Because her shutters are closed, you can really get a look at how much control plantation shutters really give you over your lighting. Envision that dining room with some softer lighting; it’s almost a picture-perfect setting for a personal candlelit dinner, right? With the right shutters in your home, you can capture the mood you want no matter what it’s like outside.

Take a look at how the white shutters flawlessly match the white trim on the baseboard as well as the white ceiling. Those matching neutrals make the black table and the wood floor’s natural color shine even more.

But that wasn’t her only photo submission. Below is another photo she submitted of her new sliding barn door shutter!

wood barn door shutter

There’s a number of reasons we love this barn door shutter. First off, it looks fantastic. The homespun aesthetic of the wood with that sleek jet black hardware up top give an enduring yet cozy look. What we love even more than the looks is the practicality of the shutter. The barn door shutter sits on top of the window frame, so it can effectively block light while still letting the window easily open and shut.

Since her shutter sits on the frame, Tonya can still use her window sill. For instance, if she wanted to set some flowers on the sill to get sunlight, she’s even able to close the shutter so it can soak up some rays while still blocking sun glare from outside.

Tonya tells us that this is the third time they’ve had Sunburst install window treatments for her home, and we want to thank her for her continued support in choosing us for all her shutter needs. For winning our quarterly Share Your Shutters contest, Tonya will receive a $100 gift card to a local restaurant.

If you want to show off your shutters and possibly be featured on our next Share Your Shutters contest, we want to see them! Share a photo of your favorite room with shutters using the hashtag #ShareYourShutters, or upload a photo to our Facebook page. We’d love to show off some shutters from a Pennsylvanian next go around!

Or if looking at Tonya’s home makes you think your home is missing something, we want to help. Call 215-874-4897 today to talk to one of Sunburst Shutters Philadelphia’s window design experts to begin.
