Polywood® shutters are not only a completely recyclable shutter, but they are also made of up to 20% recycled Polywood content. We’re the only shutter company in Philadelphia or even America that does that.
Sunburst supports green design, products, and buildings. We reuse any and all materials whenever possible. We recycle water that cools down components as they’re coming out of ovens. We reuse packaging supplies. We reuse shutter fragments – or regrind them and recycle them into new shutters. Every year we recycle hundreds of tons of materials.
When we prepare our window treatments to be transported to your residence for installation, we insert reusable corner pieces on the louvers’ edges and use the least amount of cardboard to package the shutters.
The patented paint finishes we apply to your plantation shutters are environmentally safe – and are even less than the normal volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions allowed. In our manufacturing process, our paints don’t give off fumes. When we say our paints are safe, we mean it.
Polywood Shutters do not emit harmful gasses – so you and your family can breathe easier and enjoy your window treatments.
The Only Shutter Recycling Program in Philadelphia, PA
If you ever desire to change your window treatment styles, we provide a shutter recycling program in Philadelphia to keep Polywood shutters out of landfills. You simply have to remove the shutters yourself, and contact our store manager at 215-874-4897 to set up a pick-up. We will pick up your shutters and reuse some part of them in future Polywood shutters. This applies to Polywood shutters only—we are not equipped to recycle other shutter brands.
With this program, it’s easy to recycle Polywood shutters. And, together, we’re assisting in keeping the environment green in Philadelphia.
